The singer released her debut single, Here, in 2015 when she was aged 19. The single garnered a lot of acclaim and was well received both by critics and listeners. The song reached the top spot at 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the most memorable songs of 2015. That same year she debuted the album she titled Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also one of the five original songs. According to an interview Cara did together with Rap Up, this particular song had a lot of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her tale of learning to accept and love your self. Cara incorporates messages about kindness and loving yourself throughout her songs. Her inspiration for her music comes from Cara's personal struggle to conquer mental health issues as well as insomnia. When she spoke to Reuters she said that her album was "half tumultuous" and "half flawless". She found growth through therapy and encourages other people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. Her first guitar was purchased by her parents when she was 10 years old, which sparked the passion for music. 2013 was the year she recorded some of her most loved songs on YouTube, a popular social media site. This was to demonstrate that she had the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. Sweater Weather is among the covers that resulted in her being noticed at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label let her write the songs she wrote herself.
