Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28, 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts who reside in Atlanta. Her father had the first interest to theater. He was a part of his Emory University campus in 1952 and in other productions around Atlanta. Following his air force service and appearing in an airforce production in Biloxi together with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in 2005, and they had their first baby, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter as well as his spouse quit the military in 1957 and enrolled Walter in Tulane University. Walter began working for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a Sunday morning show for children, Bum Bum and His Buddies. They established an Actors and Writers Workshop in the same year, which ran for six years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
